Playing, engaging and exchanging ideas.
When we play together, we find a variety of solutions to choose from, and expand our knowledge, our creative tool box. We learn to listen, respect and grow our understanding of each other and our world.
Explore drawing, watercolor, tempera, acrylics, collage, pastel, mixed media, Froebel gifts, sewing, weaving, sculpture, and much more!
Process over Product
"I live on Earth at present, and I don't know what I am. I know that I am not a category. I am not a thing-a noun. I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process-an integral function of the universe."
R. Buckminster Fuller
Play, Explore, then Draw!
Developing new ideas through your own work.
What We Are:
LILA is a 1,000 sq. feet of magic! A place filled with colors, shapes, textures, mediums, and inspirational tools to take you wherever your heart can dream! Small groups allow artists to feel safe and comfortable. Guests may come once a week or more. There are workshops targeting specific age groups, family workshops, or weekend workshops.
What We Are Not:
We do not tell guests how to create. There will never be a directed drawing lesson. What is Directed drawing? when everybody draws the same subject following a step by step procedure.
Instead, we can play with possibilities, generate a “tool box” of explorations and find our own unique imagery. Creative support can be found in asking questions and exploring possibilities together. Lila is a non-competitive work environment.
